The Department of Linguistics only issues Permission to Add (PTA) numbers for students with extenuating circumstances. Please use the form below to submit your PTA request. Your request will be reviewed, and if approved, you will be e-mailed a PTA number. Completing this form does not guarantee that you will receive a PTA. Please plan your course schedule accordingly. You should allow 3-5 days for processing.
Please note:
- Requests for PTA numbers cannot be approved if the classroom is at capacity.
- PTA numbers may only be issued if students provide documentation of an extenuating circumstance.
- If the course is needed for graduation, documentation is required from the student's major advisor confirming that the student has no other options.
- All documentation should be sent to OCAdvising@ucdavis.edu.
